The Atlanta VA Medical Center paid tribute to the dedication, professionalism and outstanding accomplishments of nurses throughout the medical center during its recent National Nurses Week celebration.

Activities included a wide variety of events that truly embodied this year’s theme of Nurses Leading the Way.

"We are proud of our nurses who give so much of themselves to take care of our Veterans," said Sandy Leake, Associate Director of Nursing and Patient Care Services at the medical center. "These men and women often work long hours under stressful conditions to help and save lives and we truly appreciated their commitment to excellence.”

Since the time of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, the goal of the profession has remained constant: to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes patient health and well-being. By providing personalized, proactive, patient-driven care, Atlanta VA nurses honor our Veterans’ service and empower their health.
