Victor Johnson says his entire healthcare experience has changed dramatically for the better since the opening of the VA’s Atlanta Clinic in 2015.
“Besides the great parking, what makes this clinic special is that all the employees work together to make sure things are as comfortable and convenient as possible for Veterans,” Johnson said.
For example, Johnson and other Veterans credit the clinic leadership in creating a Wall of Honor to recognize those who served in uniform.

Johnson, who spent 13 years as an Army infantryman, explained how the Wall of Honor, a framed display of unit patches, connects Atlanta Clinic Veterans to their military experience. “Veterans have a fascinating story to tell of their time in the military and this display captures those stories in a very meaningful way,” Johnson said.

Al Rosado, site administrator for the clinic, said some of the dental staff came up with the idea for the display based on their own military experience. “Being a veteran, and serving veterans, the staff knew the display of unit patches would instill a sense of pride and a sort of esprit de corps among our patients,” said Rosado, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel. “Each of our Veterans is a hero in his or her own right and we wanted to pay tribute to their military service through our Wall of Honor.”

The Atlanta Clinic, a multi-story specialty care facility, opened March 23, 2015, and provides primary care, mental health, dental, Lab and X-ray, sleep medicine and traumatic brain injury services, as well as a Women’s Wellness Clinic.
