Mental Health Service Line

The MHSL is comprised of numerous programs designed to meet the specific needs of veterans.      MHSL programs include General Mental Health Clinics that provide individual and group therapies and medication services for veterans with MH needs.  A Mental Health Assessment Team provides timely assessment and appropriate referral for veterans new to mental health services.  The Primary Care Mental Health Integration program provides appropriate MH services in the primary care setting.   Acute Mental Health Services provides both 24-hour Mental Health Emergency Department services and Inpatient treatment.  The Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center promotes community engagement and provides skills and hope for seriously mental ill veterans as they work to meet their personal goals.  The Mental Health Intensive Case Management program provides care to seriously mentally ill veterans in their home environments.  Trauma Recovery Programs provide care for veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder.   Substance Abuse Treatment Programs provide comprehensive care for veterans struggling with addiction and co-occurring illnesses.   Healthcare for Homeless Veteran Programs provide resources, housing, and care for homeless veterans.  MH Primary Care provides primary medical care to veterans with serious mental illness.  The Suicide Prevention Program identifies and provides enhanced care for veterans determined to be at risk for suicide.  The MHSL continues to expand tele-health services for veterans who may find travel to the main center for appointments burdensome.  Patient-centered care is incorporated into each of the above programs and is a guiding principle of mental health treatment at this facility.
